Green Drinks and Net Impact present:
Secrets of the Green Hiring Professionals
June 3, 7-8:30 pm

Sponsored by Willamette Week and Ecometro.com

This special Green Drinks program will help career changers and job seekers compete for positions in Portland’s most desirable green businesses and organizations. If you have ever wished a hiring manager would tell you whatever happened to your perfect resume for that perfect green job, this event is for you.

Vicki Lind, a local career counselor, will facilitate a panel of representatives who have recruited and hired for local green organizations and nonprofits.

Panelists include:
Janet Brumbaugh – Executive Recruiter experienced in recruiting for start-up and midsize companies in construction, energy conservation, high-tech, medical and consumer products.
Curt Mudd – Managing Director of Emergent Inc., formerly Vice President of HR at Nau Inc. and Global Director of HR at Nike.
Mike O’Brien – Green Building Specialist for the Portland Office of Sustainable Development.
Bree Oswill – Recruitment Specialist with Mercy Corps. As part of a four-person team, she staffs positions that support operations in over 40 countries.

You’ll get the inside scoop on how hiring managers recruit and select candidates, along with tips on how to increase your odds of garnering a hiring manager¹s attention. Plus, warnings about the most common mistakes candidates make.

Participants will also receive a review of 150 jobs in sustainable organizations that have been posted in Portland in the last five weeks.

This unique event will be 50 minutes, including time to ask your own questions of the panelists. And like every Green Drinks, there will be plenty of time for networking over Hot Lips pizza and beer!
