Naturescaping workshop hosts neededSubmitted by Betty McArdle on Wed, 01/09/2008 - 15:31.
Hi,
We are in the process of scheduling Naturescaping workshops for the first half of 2008. In order to hold a workshop we need to be “hosted”; the Naturescaping program does not have a single location where we hold workshops. By being hosted by various groups, organizations or governmental bodies we can offer workshops throughout the three-county area.
Hosting means finding a location to hold the workshop, helping to publicize the workshop in your area, providing volunteers the day of the workshop and providing refreshments the day of the workshop.
Naturescaping features beautiful native plants, natural landscapes and environmentally-friendly gardening practices. The result is less water use, fewer chemicals and less maintenance – direct benefits to you, your garden and the environment. Plus it attracts interesting and beneficial wildlife
The workshop includes before and after Naturescaping examples, advice on landscape design and native gardening, networking with neighbors, identifying native plants, and a short outdoor field trip to a nearby home or community project to see naturescaping in action. Get ideas for your garden, a guide book and a native plant to get you started. Open to all.
For workshops held within Multnomah County there is no charge to the host. There is a charge for workshops outside Multnomah County. Call 503-797-1842 or email naturescaping@yahoo.com for more information on charges and/or to sign up to host.
All Naturescaping workshops are held on Saturdays or Sundays. Saturday’s workshops are held 9:00am-1:00pm; Sunday workshops are held 1:00-5:00pm. Here are the dates available for workshops:
February 17
March 1, 2, 16
May 17, 18
May 31
June 1.
I hope to hear from you soon.
