As of 2003, Metro regional government has created an online database featuring 390 businesses and organizations that accept material for recycling or reuse. Much of it is material that cannot be recycled via curbside bin. Check out www.metro-region.org, to find drop-off points close to your house or see whether pick-up service is available and at what cost. At the web site, search for "Recycling and Waste Prevention," then click on "Find a Recycler." You can still call Metro's Recycling Information hot line at 503-234-3000 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and reach a live operator. Happy recycling!
